Meet Gerhard Moolman the Man Behind the Journey
Gerhard is preparing for an extraordinary new challenge: crossing the Atlantic Ocean solo over 3,600 kilometers using a unique rowing machine mechanism to power the surf ski. This journey will mark the first such feat and is expected to take approximately 45 days.
This unique endeavour follows his previous Guinness World Record setting adventure in 2002, during which he paddled 6,152 kilometers from Hout Bay, South Africa, to Lamu, Kenya.

THE ROUTE
Cape Verde, state of West Africa in the central Atlantic Ocean to Cayenne, Cayenne is the capital of French Guiana, on the northeast coast of South America. The journey is approximately 3600km in length and will take +/- 45 day of Rowing. At about 7km per hour.
We will update the map daily once Gerhard starts his journey.
